CHICAGO — We’re up before dawn, and preparing to return to Phoenix after a wonderful time with family, and friends, both old and new. Over 700 people attended the “Traveling the Spaceways” Symposium at the Hyde Park Art Center over this past weekend. The music and entertainment was superseded only by the great vibe of the Center, its Curators, and the spirit in which they have put everything together.
Last night I went to the New Apartment Lounge, on 75th Street, to see former Ra saxophonist, Von Freeman play, but unfortunately, he didn’t allow me to take photos, or shoot video of his performance. Somewhere in his 80’s, he’s still blowing strong.
I’ll have more on this trip when I get home.
